What if therapy hasn’t worked... because it wasn’t the right type for you?
Your Community to start getting better
Hi Friend
Thank you again for joining the waitlist for your online community to really help fibro and ME sufferers. If you are new here welcome, its great to have you here.
If you’ve ever tried therapy or a recovery programme and felt like it just didn’t work — you’re not alone.
Here’s something most clinics and programmes overlook:
Not everyone learns or heals in the same way.
Some of us need structure, facts, and step-by-step logic to process what’s happening in our bodies.
Others need space for expression — through movement, music, creativity, or sensory experiences — to feel safe enough to even begin the healing process.
And yet, so many traditional treatment options only offer one path. If that doesn’t work for you? You’re left thinking you failed the therapy — when actually, the therapy just wasn’t the right fit.
That’s why the Mend Collective is different.
We’ve built a programme that combines evidence-based treatments like CBT, pacing and trauma-informed care with alternative ways of processing, like:
Music and sound therapy
Art and creative journaling
Somatic and breath-led movement
Mindfulness and nervous system retraining
This isn’t just a “nice to have.” In fact, the NICE guidelines for ME/CFS (2021) clearly state that support should be person-centred and tailored to an individual's needs and preferences — including how they learn and communicate best.
“People with ME/CFS should have access to a personalised management plan, including support with energy management and a range of therapeutic options that suit their needs.” — NICE NG206
In other words: trying different forms of therapy isn’t a last resort — it’s best practice.
The Mend Collective was built with this in mind. We support you in discovering what actually works for you, instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.
We're nearly ready to open our doors. I can't wait to show you what’s inside. As always if you have any suggestions about what you would like in the community, please let me know.
With warmth,
Dr Ahmed
