If you’ve never heard of it before, HRV is the tiny variation in time between each heartbeat — and it’s a surprisingly powerful measure of how balanced and resilient your nervous system is.

💡 What HRV really tells us

Your heart isn’t a metronome.
When your body is calm, safe, and adaptable, your heartbeat subtly speeds up and slows down with each breath — giving you a higher HRV.
When your system is under stress, inflammation, or fatigue, your heart rhythm becomes more rigid — and HRV drops.

So in many ways, HRV acts like your body’s stress and recovery gauge.
It reflects the health of your vagus nerve, your sleep quality, your metabolic stability, and even how well you’re pacing yourself.

🌿 How we’ll use HRV inside The Mend Collective

As part of your membership, you’ll be able to connect your wearable (Fitbit, Oura, Apple Watch, or similar) so we can track your HRV over time. If you dont have a wearble dont worry, we are working with a tech provider so you will be able to take your HRV from your phone (will keep you updated on this!)
You’ll see how your body responds to:

  • Breathwork and vagus-nerve activation

  • Nutrition and meal timing

  • Gentle movement and pacing

  • Consistent rest routines and sleep quality

  • Emotional and trauma-focused work

Rather than guessing, you’ll begin to see your nervous system recovering — and that kind of biofeedback can be deeply validating.

Over time, HRV will become one of the outcome markers we track together, helping you and your coach see what’s working and where adjustments are needed.
